✅ 1. How Gmail Labels Behave During Migration to Zoho Mail
Gmail is not a normal email system. It stores one email and applies multiple labels to it.
Example:
An email can be labeled:
* Clients
* 2024
* VIP
In Gmail, that’s one email.
In Zoho, this structure cannot exist because Zoho uses real folders, not labels.
🔥 What happens during migration?
Zoho must create a separate copy of that email inside each corresponding folder.
So after migration, the user might see email appear 3 times in each folder:
* Clients → email copy #1
* 2024 → email copy #2
* VIP→ email copy #3
This is 100% normal and unavoidable.
Every email system that migrates away from Gmail does the exact same thing (Outlook, Microsoft 365, ProtonMail, etc.).
Important:
Nothing is “broken.”
It doesn’t create chaos — it simply mirrors Gmail's label behavior in a folder-based system.
✅ 2. What About Nested Labels?
Gmail lets users create structured labels like:
Projects
→ ClientA
→ Design
Zoho Mail respects this structure and creates:
Projects
ClientA
Design
So nested folders migrate perfectly.
